| Meet in Athens |
The aim of Meet in Athens is to help expats in Athens to meet people
who are in a similar situation so that we can make new friends, share tips
on getting day-to-day things done and generally have fun. Sometimes it
is great to be able to get together and share a foreign perspective on all
things Greek. The group started life in September 2005 and has been
growing steadily ever since. The countries represented by our members
include: UK, Spain, India, USA, France, Italy, Argentina, Romania,
Belgium, Netherlands, Russia, Germany, Lebanon, Sweden...
Since the group started, our members have met for a range of activities
including for coffee, drinks, dinners, clubbing, book clubs, days at the
beach, and trips out of the city. Meet in Athens is rather unique in that
instead of being centrally organised with a fixed programme, it is driven
by the enthusiasm and imagination of its members, which has proved to
be very strong so far!
The communication element of the group is e-mail based so, when you
join, you will receive e-mail messages about Meet in Athens events and
activities when they are suggested by other members. Of course, it
would be great if you also sent your own ideas for group activities to the
group. You can do this simply by sending your e-mail to one e-mail
address and it will then automatically be passed on to every member of
the group.
